How do I clear the autocomplete email address cache from Microsoft Outlook?
1. Make sure the user has closed Outlook.
2. Log onto the PC or server where the user's profile resides.
3. Open up Windows Explorer and select Tools >>> Folder Options >>> View. Make
sure that Show Hidden Files and Folders is selected.
4. Browse to %system drive%\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Delete the file with an NK2
extension.
5. Get the user to reopen Outlook. All autocomplete entries are now deleted.
And while we are on the topic:
The .NK2 file is the autocomplete file.
The .NICK file is the autoresolution file.
The .SRS file is the file that keeps your send/receive group settings for those
who use Outlook for multiple email accounts.
The Outcmd.dat is the customized toolbar settings file.
The OutlPrnt (no extension) is the customized print settings file.
