Combating SPAM with Outlook 2002
Not every site can take advantage of the great Junk filtering features built
into Outlook 2003. If your site is using Outlook 2002 or earlier, then this
article is for you. The following instructions will show you how to activate and
then use the Junk Email Senders List feature in Outlook 2002.
1. Open up Outlook and click on Tools >>> Rules Wizard.
2. Select New.
3. Select Start with a Blank Rule. Make sure that “Check Messages when they
arrive” is highlighted, and then click Next.

4. Scroll down the list until you find “Suspected to be junk e-mail or from Junk
Senders”. Place a tick in that box and click Next.

5. If you want the junk email to go straight to your Deleted Items folder then
select “delete it”. This will give you a chance to review it just in case it is
not Junk email. If you do not even want to see the email, then tick the
“permanently delete it” box (but understand that you will have no chance to
review it because you won’t even see it!). Click Next.

6. If you have some exceptions to the rule then put them in here and click Next.

7. Give the rule a name. Make sure the Turn on this Rule checkbox is selected
and click Finish.

8. As Junk email arrives, you can add it to the Junk Senders list by
right-clicking on the SPAM email in your inbox (or any other folder) and
selecting Junk Email >>> Add to Junk Senders List.

There you go! Keep on emailing!
