Final 8 System

The 'banking system' will be implemented for week one of this year's finals.
Week One-- If the clubs finishing first, second, fifth and sixth are non-Victorian, the elimination final involving the sixth placed club will be played at the MCG. If a Victorian-based club finishes in first, second, fifth or sixth spot, its final will be played at the MCG.
Week Two
-- If the highest ranked clubs are both non-Victorian, they will earn the right to host a semi-final in their home state. If a Victorian club qualifies to host a semi-final, that match will be played at the MCG.
Week Three -- If the highest ranked clubs reaching the preliminary finals are both non-Victorian, the number one ranked club will host the preliminary final in its home state. The lower ranked club will play its preliminary final at the MCG. If the highest ranked club reaching the preliminary final is a Victorian club, that game will be scheduled at the MCG and the lowest ranked club would then earn the right to host a preliminary final in their home state.
Week Four
-- Grand Final at the MCG.
