The Next Event
Ashes Welcome all to the
Summer 2003 series. I have tried to include something for everyone and also
extend an invitation to non-ashes members to attend the NON-CARD EVENT - we
will be split into groups of five anyway so will not materially effect the
betting outcomes. In this respect I charge you all to remember to Charter
item -Anything can be bet on (I look forward to offering someone odds that
their partner will miss their next shot). I have also spread it over two
days to make it easy to attend one and not the other if that is to your
liking.
It is indeed a time of change (see above) and in the spirt of revitalisation
I am extending a New Blood invitation to attend the 2003 Summer Ashes Series
to Mike 'The Man of the Circular Blade' who has expressed an interest in the
battle of the cards. Mike, I hope you will be able to attend on the 24th
(and the 19th).
So here it is (hopefully we will make quota and have a ball):
THE ASHES INVITE
NON-CARD EVENT: Supa Golf
TIME: 1.00pm on Sunday 19th January
PLACE: Swan Valley Oasis - 10250 West Swan Rd Henley Brook (9296 1166)
COST: $11-50 for nine holes (plus $2 for Ashes Players from kitty money to
be divided 50% 1st, 30% 2nd & 20% 3rd)
CARD EVENT: The garage special
TIME: 6:30pm on Friday 24th January
PLACE: Garage of my house -1
COST: $20 kitty money
RULE SPANKINGS SUBJECT TO UNANIMOUS VOTING
As per the Charter any rule can be changed subject to a unanimous vote by
the Players which is defined as the minimum of five people who attend an
Ashes Event. I would propose we vote to temporarily suspend the 4:00am
finish for this Ashes for the benefit of new fathers and particularly
potential new fathers (ie Mr Reid) to an earlier time agreed upon on the
night (say 1:00am). Further subject to an 'instant finish' clause should an
emergency dad duties call up be received after 11:00.
I would also propose we amend the voting rule and winner takes trophy rule
to incorporate a New Blood policy removing the unanimous vote requirement in
so far as New Blood are involved in voting and trophy can not be stored at a
premises not frequently visited by at least two historical Ashes attenders.
WEB PAGE AMENDMENTS
Crackers: Can you post these details to the web and amend Event Organiser to
my self by way of numerous defaults.
Charter Notes:
There is nothing in the Charter that gives non-players (ie people who don't
turn up) voting rights. There is nothing in the Charter that restricts who
can be invited. There is nothing in the Charter that stipulates at what
point there has to be five people. There is nothing in the Charter that
stipulates the non-card lead up event has to occur on the same day as the
card part of the event.
